Boudoir Photography - Frequently Asked Questions
The idea of a boudoir session can be scary. When I tell women about my sessions, they ask me a lot of questions. As a result, I've compiled a list of my 12 most often asked questions to help you prepare for your boudoir session with me!
Will you share the images?
My top priority, especially with Boudoir, is to ensure that my clients are comfortable. Boudoir has the potential to be a life-changing experience, but it can also be nerve-wracking! Sometimes you're learning to appreciate your body and aren't quite ready to share the images with the rest of the world, and other times these shots are only for your spouse's eyes. These are all excellent reasons to keep your images private, and it is entirely up to you! That is, if I'd like to share an image, I will always ask first for your permission and only share what you're comfortable with.
Is it necessary for me to wear lingerie?
You don't have to wear lingerie at all; it all depends on your personality! There is a slew of wardrobe options besides lacy tiny things!
Do you offer flexible payment options?
We have a couple of different payment plans available! A booking retainer is required to reserve your shoot, and you won’t have to make a choice of what you want until the reveal which comes about a week after your shoot. If you need extra time to pay off prints at that time, we can set up a payment plan for you to pay it off in installments! Please let me know if this is something you'd like to do!
Are Hair-and-Makeup included in the package?
All of our boudoir shoots include hair and makeup! I believe it is critical that you feel pampered, and getting your hair and makeup done is an excellent way to do that! Whether you’re looking for "I just woke up like this" or "Full-on Glam,", our beyond-talented makeup artist can help you perfect your look. You are welcome to bring any makeup ideas you have, and we will try to use them as inspiration!
Do you use Photoshop to edit my photos?
I do light, exposure, color balance adjustments as well as some light skin touch-up to your images. However, I DO NOT EDIT ANYTHING "OUT" that is permanent! I believe that having a boudoir session and then editing parts of yourself that make you who you are can be harmful! Accepting yourself and seeing your beauty entails not photoshopping out parts of yourself that you don't like. It's okay if there are aspects of yourself that you're learning to love but aren't overjoyed about! We are skilled at posing and lighting to make you look your best and bring out your best features!
Where should I shop for outfits?
There are a few places to buy outfits, and it all depends on what you want and the style of your shoot! Here's a long list of options in various styles and sizes: Forever21, Victoria's Secret, adorme.com, Torrid, eberjay.com, Aerie, hpisandcurves.com, jasminestacycollecion.com If you're looking for something specific that you can't seem to find, let me know and I might be able to help!
What kinds of print products do you offer?
We have a wide selection of albums, wall art, and luxury Folio boxes! My favorite is our Beautiful Portuguese Handcrafted Luxury 10X14 Albums. They comes with 20 gorgeous pages, and it comes with its own matching keepsake box. “I adore the sensation of holding a physical print of myself; it's surreal to see yourself in such a way! I flip through the beautiful pages whenever I get a chance, and it serves as a reminder of how beautiful I really am!”
Do you provide digitals?
All of our packages include some type of print product, but there is also an A la Carte list from which to choose! We have the option to include digital images as an add-on to an album or folio box! These digital images are available in a password-protected online gallery for you to download and share!
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you WEREN’T nervous. The nervousness at the beginning of your shoot, only serves in the end to make your moment of “WOW” even more incredible when you see your photos for the first time!
How many outfits should I bring?
You will always have full access to our studio wardrobe, but I always suggest bringing in at least 5 outfits so that you have options. I always say to bring more if you can’t decide and I will help you decide at your shoot!
Should I get to my shoot early?
You should always plan on getting to your shoot about 10 minutes early so we can talk about your outfits and colors and make a plan for hair and makeup!
Where is your studio located?
We are located about 15 minutes south of downtown SLC. It’s a private studio, with options for outside shooting as well!
