Ms. J’s Boudoir Experience

When I asked Ms. J if I could share her boudoir story, she immediately said “Yes!” Her story has brought me to tears, and her transformation has been one of the most memorable ones. This is her story:

From the moment I read Ms. J’s inquiry to one of our offers, I knew that it was gonna be a great experience for both of us. Ms. J shared with me how from early on in life, she had to grow up fast and from a very young age had to focus on taking care of others. “I grew up in a broken home. My mother was hearing and my father was hard of hearing. We had dual languages.” she shared with me “I have a younger brother that I raised because my mother got sick right after he was born. First six years of his life, I was the only thing he saw.”

Ms. J life experience growing taught her to be very resilient. “[…]from that point on, I was always in a hurry to grow up. In a hurry to graduate from high school, which I did a year early. Then, I was in a hurry to graduate from college, which I succeeded doing two and a half years early.”

When I asked her why she wanted to do a Boudoir Session she told me about how the images she saw in our site spoke to her. “I loved the photographs. They were so empowering. They were very elegant and beautiful and I wanted to see myself in those pictures.” she said" “I wanted to feel that confidence, that beauty for just myself.” And that she did! on the day of the session Ms. J fully showed up and you can see it in her images!

Now, this didn’t mean that she wasn’t feeling a bit nervous before the shoot, but when I asked her how she felt once we started, she told me that she had quickly felt very comfortable. “Everything felt very natural” she shared “I mean you and Jocelyn made everything feel very easy. Once I walked into the studio, it was a piece of cake. I felt beautiful from the moment I walked in”

“I would love to do it again. I would say that the best part of the whole experience was the feeling that it gave me: this feeling of confidence, that no matter what, I am beautiful and I get to feel beautiful. […] This experience really taught me that we just need to take that time to look at ourselves and be okay with that.”
